1. Jared Prentice, was likely b. c. 1765-1780. We do not know where he was born, but by 1825 he and his family were living in Augusta, Oneida Co., NY.
He m. Patience (per letter of 15 Nov 1995, Oneida County Historical Society). They had 1 or more children, including:
- Abigail Prentice, b. c. 1805 and d. 26 Jul 1825 at the age of 20 of consumption. She is bur. at the Newell's Corners Cemetery at Augusta, Oneida Co., NY.
We have not located any record of a Jared Prentice in that 1765-1783 general time frame with a wife named Patience. .
Living in Augusta, Oneida Co., NY at that same time is Gideon Prentice (Binney's 1883 book, pg. 309, #55) and his wife, Avis Baldwin. Gideon was b. 1776, and may be related to Jared since he is of the same generation, but Binney does not identify Jared as a brother in the listing of Gideon's siblings on pg. 292.
