He m. Virginia M. , b. c. 1919, MN, a housewife with 1 year of college. Daughter per 1940 census:

3. Allen Harry Prentis, b. 15 May 1918, Hennepin Co., MN, and d. before 2006 per obit. of his wife, Violet, although an entry in Ancestry.com and the SSDI says he d. 21 Jun 2011 in Lombard, Du Page Co., IL. His place of residence in 1993 was Clarendon Hills, IL.

He m. Violet Marie Post on 14 Feb 1951, Chicago, IL. She was b. 14 Nov 1914 and d. 13 Dec 2006, Minneapolis, per SSDI. Her obituary reads as follows:
