Mike Prentice, 73, of Osceola Mills died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield. He was born Sept. 27, 1926, in Morrisdale, a son of the late Howard and Anna Kovalcin Wood-ring.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Power Operating in Osceola Mills and was a retired custodian for the Civic Center in Bigler. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 154, and a lifetime member of the Columbia Fire Company, all in Osceola Mills. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

On Sept. 26, 1953, in Osceola Mills, he married Josephine H. Timchak, who survives at home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roy F. Prentice of Philipsburg and Michael L. Prentice of Osceola Mills; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Heath Funeral Home, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. and a Christian Vigil Service will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. David L. Poulson officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Osceola Mills. Memorial contributions may be made to Osceola Mills Public Library, Osceola Mills, Pa. 16666, or to Holt Memorial Library, Philipsburg, Pa. 16866.
