REYNOLDS CATHERINE E. (nee Prentice), of Woodbury, NJ, passed away on Dec. 25, 2007 surrounded by her loving family, age 61 years.
Cathy was an outgoing, loving and compassionate person who excelled at everything that she attempted. She always put others needs in front of her own and was the most unselfish person that her family and friends knew. Even during her toughest times, you couldn't find a woman with a more positive attitude. Cathy enjoyed crafts, old movies and traveling but her biggest enjoyment in life was to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cathy also played the guitar and violin and loved to share those talents with family and friends, especially around the holidays.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, c. 1946, Cathy was a resident of Woodbury for the past 13 years and an active member of St. Margaret's R.C. Church in Woodbury Heights. Cathy served as a Eucharistic Minister; was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the comforting ministry. Cathy was an information security officer for 10 years and most recently the clinical assistant to the ACOS for medical education for the last year at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. While there she was honored as the first recipient of the newly established Annual Catherine E. Reynolds Award for Excellence in Mentoring. Cathy was the founder of the S.O.S. (Support Our Staff) support group for cancer survivors and caregivers by the VA Hospital.
Devoted mother of Thomas (Sherry) and Brian (Mary); loving grandmother of Daniel and Matthew; dearest friend of Eleanor M. Kandle; also survived by many loving cousins.
Viewing Friday, 6:30-9 P.M. and Saturday, 8:30-9:15 A.M. at the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ. Mass Saturday, 10 A.M at St. Margaret's R.C. Church, 3rd Street and Beech Ave, Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cathy's memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Margaret's R.C. Church at the above address.
