1. Carl O. Prentice, a Minister, was b. c. 1906 in Texas, and d. 6 Feb 1975, Bethany, Oklahoma Co., OK. Bur. Chapel Hill Mem. Gardens Cem., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., OK. 1935 in Rural, McCurtain, OK, and 1940 in El Dorado, Union Co., Arkansas. He does not appear in the 1910, 1920 or 1930 census. It is not clear how he came to be a Minister as the 1940 census shows him, at age 34, as having only an 8th grade education.

    Carl O. Prentice, 83 of Bethany, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2014. He was born September 18, 1930 in Durant, Oklahoma the son of late Carl and Ethel Prentice. He was the second oldest of 4 `siblings.

    He graduated from Bethany Nazarene University. He married Erma Quiring on December 23, 1952 in Newton, Kansas in a double wedding with Erma's sister Marcella. Our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa worked as a manager of a supermarket. After many years he became self –employed with his yard service that he loved. Dad loved being outside with his garden, watching football, playing basketball, volleyball and softball with his church friends. He loved fishing with his cane pole. He loved telling jokes and playing golf with his brothers. Dad was a very faithful man and loved the Lord, his church, and his family. He was always happy and believed every day was a blessed day.

    He is survived by his wife Erma Prentice, daughters Judy Ralph and Paula(Bob) McEuen, Carla(John) Tate, and Brenda Teague,Genelle Acord, sister, Brothers Bud (Sue) Prentice, George (Maxine) Prentice; grandchildren Peter Ralph, Andrew Ralph, Katie McCrath, Michol Griggs, Michelle Griggs, Melissa Teague, ALayna Teague, Great Grandchildren; Brayden McCoy, Tristen McCoy, Alyssa McCoy, Aiden Griggs, Gabriella Jensen, and many loved nieces and nephews.

    Mr. Prentice was preceded in death by his parents Carl & Ethel Prentice, Steve Ralph, Clariece Prentice and Bob Acord.

    A service will be held on Friday, August 29th 10 am at Williams Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, OK and interment will follow to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, OK.

3. George Cranford Prentice, a Minister, b. 27 Jul 1932, Durant, Bryan Co., OK, and d. 6 Sep 2014, AR. Found in Hope Star in Hope, Arkansas on Wed, Dec 2, 1964: Rev. Carl Prentice to preach at Hope Church of the Nazarene.: He is father of pastor George Prentice.

He m. Clariece c. 1965. She was b. c. 1932 and d. 21 Dec 2007, North Little Rock, AR. Dau. of Clarence and Virginia House. Her obituary reads as follows:

    Clariece Prentice 75, of North Little Rock died Friday, Dec. 21. She was a member of Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene and a retired schoolteacher. She was a pastor's wife for 42 years. She loved the Lord and her church and made friends easily. She enjoyed reading, shopping and crafts.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Virginia House, and a sister, Martha Beall.

    She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George C. Prentice of North Little Rock; a son, the Rev. Paul Prentice and wife Cynthia of Grand Prairie, Texas; a daughter, Pam and husband Tim Foxworthy of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Bethany and Jonathan Prentice and Joshua and Ashley Foxworthy; sisters Louise Webb and husband Hershel and Betty Andreae, all of North Little Rock, and Virginia Pickens and husband Majors of Searcy; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

    The funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family requests that memorials be made to Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene, 9860 Brockington Road, Sherwood, AR 72120.
