He m. Anne Gilmore, b. 13 Apr 1958, Beverly, MA, and d. 26 Jan 2011, Essex, Essex Co., MA. She was the dau. of John P. Gilmore and Catherine O'Connor. Her obituary reads as follows:

    Gloucester Daily Times (MA) - Monday, January 31, 2011.

    ESSEX -- Anne (Gilmore) Prentiss, 52, of Essex, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011. She was the wife of Tom Prentiss and beloved mother and best friend of Olivia Prentiss, both of Essex.

    Born in Beverly on April 13, 1958, she was the daughter of John P. and Catherine (O'Connor) Gilmore. Anne was raised and educated in Manchester-by-the-Sea, she was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1976. She later attended South Hampton College.

    Anne was a purchasing manager at Osram Sylvania in Danvers, where she had been employed for 25 years. She was a past member of the Essex Finance Committee. She was an assistant coach for both softball and basketball in the Essex-Manchester Town League. Anne enjoyed Singing Beach and Going Down River. Her infectious smile and personality will be dearly missed by many.

    Anne is survived by, in addition to her husband Tom, her daughter Olivia, and her parents John and Catherine, her brother, Mark Gilmore and her sisters, Jean Cassanos and Ellen Gilmore. She was a sister-in-law of Hank Prentiss, Jim Prentiss, Ray Prentiss, Cathy Polusen and the late Jack Prentiss. Anne is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

    ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 62 School St., Manchester-by-the-Sea, relatives and friends are respectfully invited. A reception will follow the Mass in the American Legion Amaral Bailey Post 113 ,14 Church St., Manchester-by-the-Sea. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Anne's name to Cape Ann Animal Shelter, 260 Main St., Gloucester, MA 01930. Arrangements are under the direction of the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich.
