1. Samuel Prentice was b. c. 1903 ,Scotland and appears in the 1940 census in Philadelphia, PA, with his wife and family where he was a painter in a Ship Yard with a 4 year High School education. He emigrated to America between 1922 and 1924. Children:

He m. Betty Lewis. She was b. 30 Jun 1925 in Traverse City, MI, and d. 20 Apr 2015, Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, MI. Dau. of Angeline Hageland and Burr Smith Lewis. Betty's obituary reads as follows:

    Betty Prentice Died April 20, 2015: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice, Grand Traverse Herald, The (MI) - Thursday, April 23, 2015.

    Deceased Name: Betty Prentice Died April 20, 2015. Betty Elizabeth Prentice, 89, of Traverse City, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Betty was born on Tuesday, June 30, 1925 to `the late Angeline (Hageland) and Burr Smith Lewis in Traverse City.

    On Saturday, March 16, 1946 she married Samuel Prentice in Traverse City. Betty and Sam made their home in Herford, Pennsylvania, and Ivy Land, Pennsylvania, before moving back to Traverse City in 1987. She had worked for American Electronics Laboratories, where she was a lead person until her retirement in 1987. Betty had been a member of the Kings Court Association and had served as its president. She was known for and enjoyed her vast Christmas village collection, which she displayed in her home every Christmas holiday, and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She attended Central United Methodist Church.

    Betty is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Ralph) Kennedy and Margaret Jean (James) Sayre, of Largo, Florida; and her grandchildren, Karen (Ira) Babcock, Ralph Kennedy, of Interlochen, Kellie (Joe) VanAntwerp, of Traverse City, and Samuel Prentice, of Pennsylvania. Betty is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Meagan, Jessica, Joseph, Liam, Sophia, Zachary and Gabrielle; and her sister, Dolly (Wilmer) Bauer, of Watertown, South Dakota.

    She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Angeline Bradford and Catherine Saxton; and brother, Charles Lewis.
