1. Unknown Prentice may have been b. c. 1835-1845 in Ireland (a transcription error in the census records says "Poland."). His birth year is based on the ages of his daughters who appear in the 1920 and 1940 census, as well as his place of birth as reflected in that 1920 census record.
He may have had consecutive wifes: Margaret's mother is shown as in the 1920 census as b. in NY and Clara's mother is shown as b. in PA. They had 2 or more children: apparent half sisters, including:
- Margaret Prentice, b. c. 1868 PA. She appears as single in the 1920 and 1940 census. She had 2 years of High School. No occupation is shown in the 1940 census.
- Clara L. Prentice, b. c. 1885, PA. The 1920 census calls her Clara, while the 1940 census calls her Clare. She appears as single in the 1920 and 1940 census. She had 4 years of High School and in 1940 was a Public Health Nurse.
