1. James Prentice, was b. c. 1906 in Scotland. He first appears in the 1940 census in Cowanshannock, Armstrong Co., PA with his wife and family. He was then a Coal Miner with 1 year of High School. We do not know when he emigrated to American, but it was as some date prior to the 1923 birth of his son in PA.
He m. Mary who was b. c. 1899 in PA. Children per 1940 census:
- John F. Prentice, b. c. 1923, PA. 1940 at home.
- Ida K. Prentice, b. c. 1928, PA. 1940 at home.
- Ina M. Prentice, b. c. 1928, PA. 1940 at home.
- Margaret S. Prentice, b. c. 1934, PA. 1940 at home.
- Ivy G. Prentice, b. c. 1936, PA. 1940 at home.
