He m. Patricia, b. c. 1931 and d. 7 Apr 2014, Dunfermline, Scotland. Her obituary reads as follows:
- Patricia PRENTICE
PRENTICE. - Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, on Monday 7th April 2014, Patricia, aged 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Iain, greatly missed by her loving family. Always in our hearts. Funeral Service will take place on Monday 14th April 2014, at Dunfermline Crematorium, 2.00 pm to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please.
