1. Bailey Prentice was b. c. 1880 in New York. He first appears in the 1940 census in Miami, Dade Co., Florida. He does not appear in the SSDI.

The 1940 census shows him as married, but his wife does not appear in the household. No children are shown.

Who are Bailey Prentiss' Parents?

Curiously, he does not appear in the 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 census. The 1940 census says that he was an "American Citizen Born Abroad." That seems inconsistent with the NY birth place shown, but perhaps NY was his permanent address and his parents were only temporarily abroad.

Investigation is continuing.
