1. Alfred Prentice, b. c. 1882 in TX. The surname is spelled Prentiss in the 1930 census, and Prentisss in the 1940 census. For convenience, we use the 1940 "Prentice" spelling for all entries. He appears in the 1920 census in Terrell, Kaufman Co., TX where he is called Mulatto. 1930 census in Police Jury Ward 5, Caddo, LA.\ where Alfred and his children are all called Negro/Black.

2. Oscar Prentiss, b. 7 Apr 1933, Woodlawn, Harrison Co., TX, and d. 30 Jul 2013. 1940 at home. His obituary, with photo is found at Obitsforlife and reads as follows:

    Oscar Prentice, 4/7/1933-7/30/2013

    Oscar Prentice was born on 4/7/1933 in Woodlawn Tx. He was the 11th of 12 children born to Ella Mae & Alfredo Prentice. Oscar left home at a young age to join the United States Air Force. He was presented with numerous awards and citations. He retired in 1971 after 22 years of service. He made his home in Denver, Colorado.

    On January 10, 1975, Oscar married Priscilla Anaya. He lovingly took on the role of father and helped guide his 4 step-children into adulthood. Throughout Oscar & Priscilla’s marriage, they traveled often and extensively to various countries around the world.

    After retiring from the military, Oscar returned to school and earned a Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from Metro State College. While in school, he went to work for the Denver City/County jails. He eventually retired after numerous years of service.

    Oscar departed from this earth to be with the Lord on July 30, 2013. Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife Priscilla, his sisters, Mrs. Bertha Mae Boyd, Mrs. Laura Relaford and Mrs. Ella Mae Norman ;step-children, Marie, Lorraine, Reyes (Carrie ) & Michael Trujillo, his grandchildren, Tuesday, Reyes III, & Alise, his great grandchildren Naya, Kristopher, Shawn, Sherron Jr., Sasha and Jalan. He was also blessed with a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives. Lastly, he had many, many good friends that he talked about often and with affection. Brought to you by: Stork Family Mortuary
