1. William H. Prentice was b. Jan 1883 in NY. He appears in the 1900 census in Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York, in the home of Samuel C. and Anna M. Pierson and William is called a cousin. He later appears in the 1920 and 1930 census in Troy with his wife and family. He died before the 1940 census as his wife is then called a widow.
He m. Frances Y., b. c. 1885, NY. Apparently they only had 1 child, a daughter:
- Elizabeth V. Prentice, b. c. 1909, NY. 1920 and 1930 at home. She m. Mr. Burr before 1940.
Elizabeth is living, as Mrs. Burr, with her mother in Troy. Son:
- Prentiss C. Burr, b. c. 1936, NY. 1940 at home.
Note: The surname is spelled "Prentice" in the 1900, 1920 & 1930 census, but "Prentiss" in 1910 and 1940 census.
