1. Mrs. Jeanette [Holladay] Prentice was b. Jul 1851 in NY. She first appears as divorced in the 1900 census in Manhattan, New York Co., NY. There, she is called a sister of the head of the household, Margaret Holladay (b. Dec 1844, NY). Other sisters of Margaret Holladay in the household are Emma B. Holladay (b. Jul 1949, NY) and Louise S. Holladay (b. May 1860, NY). She later appears as a widow in the 1940 census in Rye, Westchester Co., NY.

Jeanette does not appear in the 1880 census as either a Holladay or Prentice, although her sons were born after 1880.

Children of Jeanette shown in the 1900 U.S. census, 1915 and 1925 NY census are:

  1. Frederick D. Prentice, b. 8 May 1882, NY, and d. Nov 1968, Rye, Westc hester Co., NY, per SSDI. 1900 and 1915 at home. 1925 at home in Rye, Westchester Co., NY. 1930 & 1940 census in Rye, Westchester Co., NY, with his wife, May A., b. c. 1888, NY, as were her parents. Daughter:
    1. Geraldine V. Prentice, b. c. 1920, NY. 1930 and 1940 at home in Rye, NY.
  2. William S. Prentice, b. c. 1887, NY. 1900 and 1915 at home. 1925 at home in Rye, Westchester Co., NY. Not in 1930 census.
