Later in his life he moved to Michigan where he married Unknown. He left this woman and moved to Short Tract, NY and lived with Maggie Dorning who was b. c. 1853, NY; they had four children. George owned a grist mill and saw mill in Short Tract. Children of George and Maggie per Ancestry.com :

After Maggie Dorningdied he left his children and went back to his Unknownwife in Michigan. He later returned to NY and enlisted in Civil War the Union Army in Letchworth Park, NY. He died in a Soldiers Home in Tennesse and is buried in a Civil War Cemetery in TN.

Mable was born in East Granger, NY and had three other sisters and a brother. Fred and Mable had three children. After the children were born, Fred and Mable seperated for the rest of their lives. Mable's father, Lewis Parkes, was a farmer and died of phneumonia when he was 56. Mable's mother, Effie Philips, family was part French also. Children of Fred and Mabel:
