Update of 1 Jan 2011: Francis Prentice is #2(i)(i) in our Summer 2002 article entitled Prentices of Cressing, Essex Co., England . Cressing lies about 14 miles NNE of Chelmsford. That article now replaces this article.
Pamela Eves' email of 27 Dec 2010 brings to our attention the following family:
1. Francis Prentice may have been b. c. 1780-1797 at an unknown location. By 1817 he was a laborer living on Duke Street in Chelmsford, Essex Co. England.
He m. Ann. They had 4 or more childen, including:
- Harriott/Harriatt/Harriet Prentice, bap. 25 Dec 1817, Duke Street, Chelmsford, Essex.
- Sarah Ann Prentice, b. 8 May 1819 and bap. 2 Sep 1821, Duke Street, Chelmsford, Essex.
- Matilda Prentice, bap. 16 Apr 1822, Duke Street, Chelmsford, Essex. She may have died young as a later daughter has the same name.
- Matilda Prentice, bap 16 Apr 1822, Duke Street, Chelmsford, Essex.
