INTRODUCTION: We had originally included the following material in another article, but it soon became apparent that the dates were such that William rentice could not be the son of the indicated parents, Thomas Prentice, bap 23 Apr 1809) and Sarah Ann Choat, b. c. 1834, in our Spring 2003 article entitled Prentices of Canewdon . We now give William Prentice his own article.
1. William Prentice was b. c. 1825, Cressing or Canewdon, Essex. 1851 in Camden Town, St. Pancras, Middlesex. 1861 Kentish Town, Middlesex. Not in 1871 census. 1881 living on Villier Rd., Bushey, Hertfordshire ("Gardner Master ND"), with his wife, Eliza, b. c. 1827, Stapleford, Cambridgeshire. 1891 not in census. Children:
- Emma Prentice, b. c. 1849, Islington, London, Middleses. 1851 and 1861 at home.
- Ellen Prentice, b. c. 1850, Kentish Town or Camden, London, Middlesex. 1850 and 1861.at home. 1881 at home.
