Update of 4 Oct 2011: James Steward Prentice is #3(v) in our Spring 2001 article entitled Alexander Prentice of Carluke, Scotland . That article now replaces this ariicle.
1. James Stewart Prentice was b. c. 1889, Toronto, Canada, according to the birth record of his son, Robert. In 1932 he was a "Professor" living in Middlebury, Addison Co., VT, with his wife and family. He does not appear in 1930 census, nor does he appear in the SSDI.
He m. Margaret Gibson MacDonald. She was b. c. 1898, Kingston, NY.They had 4 or more children, including:
- Robert John Alexander Prentice, b. 2 Sep 1932, Middlebury, Addison Co., VT, at the Porter Hospital per Vermont Births . According to his birth record, he was the 4th of 4 children. He does not appear in the 2010 SSDI.
- Wilbert Neil Prentice, b. 19 Nov 1923, Nagpur, Maharashitra, India, and d. 3 Aug 1995, Granville, Licking, OH, USA. We do not know whether he is related to the SSDI person shown as Elizabeth Jane Prentice, b. 22 May 1925 and d. 23 Jan 2008, Newark, Licking Co., OH.
- (child) Prentice, b. before 1932.
