Update of 8 Mar 2008: Emma Prentice is probably the daughter of Rebekah/Rebecca Prentice who is #4.2 in our Soring 2003 article entitled Prentices of Canewdon, Essex, England and is certainly the granddaughter of William Prentice who is #4, and who is Rebekah/Rebecca's father, in that same article (per the 1861 Paglesham, Essex, census.
1. Emma Prentice was b. c. 1849 (1851 census) or c. 1852 (1861 census) in Paglesham, Essex, England (per 1881 and 1901 census, but 1891 census says she was b. in New Cross, Kent).
She m. Charles Garrett/Garratt before 1881 in Deptford, Kent. He was b. c. 1853, Grenwich, Kent. In 1881 and 1891 they appear as married and living 16 Amersham Grove, Deptford St. Paul, London.
The 1861 Paglesham, Essex census shows an Emma Prentice, b. c. 1849, Paglesham, granddaughter of William Prentice (b. c. 1802, Canewdon, Essex) and Rebecca (b. c. 1808, Stockley, Essex). Also in the household is William Prentice, grandson, b. c. 1858, Paglesham. William is #4 in our Spring 2003 article entitled Prentices of Canewdon, Essex, England .
