He m. Winnie (Winifred?) G. Wood who was b. Dec 1864, VT, dau. of Mary E. Wood, b. Sep 1834, VT, who was living with them in Burlington in the 1900 census. Her father was also b. in VT. Called "Minnie A, Prentice" and widowed and living with her son, Howard, in the 1930 census in McDonough, Chenango Co., NY. Charles and Winnied had 4 or more children, including:

Living with the family in the 1900 census was Mary E. Wood, mother in law, age 65, b. Sep 1834, VT.

2. Howard C. Prentiss, b. Nov 1883, Williston, Chittenden Co., VT. 1900 census at home in Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT, per Vermont Birth Records . In 1909 and 1912 he was shown as a Farmer. At home in 1920 census. Called "Howard C. Prentice" and living with his mother, Winnie, in the 1930 census in McDonough, Chenango Co., NY, and called a Farm Laborer.

He m. Nina Clark (transcribed as "Clack,") who was b. c. 1883 in Morristown, VT(?). They had 2 or more children, including:

1. Helen Blanche Prentiss, b. 8 Oct 1909, Hyde Park, Lamoille Co., VT.
2. Mary Belle Prentiss, b. 18 Jul 1912, Hyde Park, lamoille Co., VT.

Charles might be related to Clark Prentiss of Burlington, VT or to Charles Prentiss of S. Burlington, VT. He might also be a son of Edward Prentiss, b. c. 1820 who appeared as unmarried in the 1850 Burlington census.
