We are helping Dave Prentice In reviewing 1920 and 1930 Virgin Island census records, all heads of families were born in St. Kitts and Nevis and settled on St. Croix island in the Virgin Islands. All were identified as "Colored" in the 1920 census and as "Negro" in the 1930 census as were all members of those families. The following persons likely would be similarly classified.
1. Father: Unknown Prentice
Mother(s): Unknown. Children:
Note: Vernon and/or Merle Prentice have 2 sons, Vance Prentice and
Vernon Prentice Jr., one having 2 daugters. one of them having 2 daughters.
2. Wentworth Nathaniel Prentice (son of George), b. 1942, probably in the Virgin Islands.. In 2008 he lives in the U. S. Virgin Islands.
Mother: Inez (she had daughters by a prior/subsequent relationship: Michelle and Danielle). Children of Wentworth and Inez:
Mother(s): Other than Inez:
3. Vernon Prentice (son of George). In 2008 he resides on St. John. He m. sister of Inez, above. Vernon is related to Dave Prentice,
above, on both Dave's mother & father's side, for his wife is my Dave Prentice's mother's sister.
It seems likely that Wentworth Nathaniel Prentice may be related to the Prentices discused in our Fall 2004 article entitled Virgin Island Prentices .
Investigation is continuing.
