Do you have the new PRENTICE eBook?
Stephen Prentis of Waterford, Connecticut
By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor
Spring 2008 and Revised 3 Feb 2008

Stephen Prentis and his wife are #19 in our Stephen-3 Prentice eBook. We are seeking information about Stephen's career and about 4 of their daughters. Here is what we have so far:

19. Stephen Prentis was b. 16 Oct 1763, in New London, New London, CT [67], and d. 28 Aug 1853, Waterford, CT. Burial: 1853, in Waterford, N.L., CT. Census: 1850, in Waterford, N.L., CT [68]. Occupation: Sea Captain.

He married Abigail Slater, 8 Apr 1783, in New London, New London, CT [3]. Born, circa 1766 [69]. Died, 3 Apr 1833[70]. They had 13 children. We are seeking information about certain of his daughters:

  1. Rebecca Prentis. Born, 21 Dec 1785. Died, 1851. She does not appear in the 1850 census under that name so it is unclear whether she married or was missed.

  2. Mary Ann Prentis. Born, 28 May 1800, in Waterford, N.L., CT [3]. Died, 1830.

  3. Charlotte Prentis. Born, 23 May 1802, in Waterford, N.L., CT [3]. Died, 1862.

  4. Abby Ann Prentis. Born, 20 Apr 1809, in Waterford, N.L., CT. Died, 1875.
