    EDWIN MARSHALL PRENTICE Edwin Marshall Prentice, a resident of Cuba and vicinity for many years, died Thursday night June 17, in Angelica. He had been ill for many months with diabetes which finally culminated in gangrene. For the past two years Mr Prentice had live in an invalid condition with his son Hanford of Willow Street. The decease was born in Lyndon, in 1859. Here he followed farming, and married Eva Simons of Franklinville in 1874.

    Beside his wife, who lives here at present, he leaves five children; two daughters, Mrs Henry Currrier of Canisteo amd Mrs Charles Willima of Cuba; three sons, Hanford, Sanford and Leslie of Cuba, and a brother William Prentice of Olean and a sister, Mrs. Willima Sisson of Black Creek. There are also 14 grandchildren.

    The funeral took place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hanford Prentice home in Willow street, with services by Rev. Adolph Schock. Burial was in Cuba cemtery.

Main St. died Sunday (Sept 27, 1970) at Cuba Memorial Hostipal following a long illness. Born at Franklinville, March 11, 1886, he was a son of Edwin M and Eva Simmons Prentice. In 1919 he married the former Edna Robinson, who died in 1955. Mr Prentice was a retired farmer. Surviving are three sons, George E. Prentice of Dover, Del. Leslie M. Prentice Jr. of Belfast and Stanley Prentice of Cherry Point, N. C.; two daughters. Mrs Aletha Barber of Friendship and Mrs Aletha Barber of Friendship and ; a step daughter, Mrs Evelyn Strait of Buffalo; and 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
      Friends may call at the Loveridge Funeral Home, 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday (Oct 1, 1970) at 2 p.m. the Rev Lloyd Mack, pastor of the Cuba United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Cuba Cemetery at Cuba.

He was born in Cuba on Jan 5 1927, the son of Leslie and Edna Robinson Prentice and married Joyce Cutter in 1950 in Castile. He was a world war II veteran and a member of the American Legion.
        Surviving besides his wife and father are a daughter Jo-Ann; three sisters, Mrs Evelyn Strait of Buffalo, Mrs Althea Barber of Friendship and Mrs Geneive Wells of Belfast; three brothers, George of Dover, Del, Leslie of Cuba and Stanley, of the armed forces, several nices and nephews and cousins.

        Friends may call at the Wolcott Funeral Home in Belfast, where the funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev Everett Hendrickson of the Belfast Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

        Wellsville Daily Reporter newspaper, Wellsville, Allegany, New YorkWednesday Dec 16, 1998 STANLEY R PRENTICE BELFAST--Satanley R. Prnitce, 66, of 15 Main st. died Monday (Dec 14, 1998) at the Bath VA Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born March 10, 1932, in Belfast, he was a son of Leslie M and Ednah Robinson Prentice. Mr Prentice had resided most of his life in Belfast and was a 1950 graduate of Belfast Central School.

        For 30 years he had served in the Marine Corps, fighting in combat during the Korean and Vietnam conflects and retiring in 1983. His service medals included the Korean Service Medal, the United Nation Medal, the National Detense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze battle stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaing Medal with device; the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm, the Army Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal with one device. He was a life member of Robert W. Howden American Legion Post 1504 Belfast and a life member of Cuba Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 27.

        Survivors include a special friend Alice P. Brownell of Belfast; two brothers, George (Bertha) Prentice of Mims, Fla, and Leslie (Lynn) Prentice of Cuba; two sisters, Genevieve Wells of Belfast and Aletha (Lynn) Barber of Belfast and several nices and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Maynard Prentice in 1960 and a sister, Evelyn Strait in 1972.

        Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Treusdell Funeral Home Belfast. Funeral and committal services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec 18, at the funeral home with Rev. Jennifer Schaus, pastor of the Belfast United Methodist church, officiating.
