We are seeking descendant information for Orrin Prentice who appears in our John-3 eBook. Here is what we have so far:

549. Orrin Prentice (Abraham C., 290). Born, 29 Apr 1850, in Ligonier, Noble, IN. Died, 1936, in Napoleon, Henry, OH. Census: 1850, in Swan, Noble, IN [1163]. Census: 1910, in Brooklyn, Jackson, MI. In 1906 a farmer in Brooklyn, MI and in the 1930s in Delta, OH. 1910 census in Columbia, Twp., Jackson Co., MI

He married Eva Patten. Born, circa 1857, in OH. Died, circa 1932. Burial in Burkey Cem. Census: 1910, in Brooklyn, Jackson, MI. She may be the Eva E. Patten shown in the 1870 census in Richfield, Lucas Co., OH, as b. c. 1857, OH, dau. of William Patten (b. c. 1815, NY, farmer) and his wife, Lois (b. c. 1825, NY).

  1. Sadie Prentice, b. c. 1883, OH. She m. John Frybarger and had a son, Wayne [per 915].

  3. Leon Prentice b. c. 1886-1895. Not in 1920 or 1930 census. He may, or may not, be the Leon Prentiss shown in the SSD as b. 19 Jan 1895, who obtained his SS# in MI, and who d. Apr 1976 in Detroit, Wayne Co., MI.

549.1 Orlin/Orlie Prentice, b. c. 1885, MI. 1910 census in Columbia, Twp., Jackson Co., MI, living with his parents. 1920 census as Orlie Prentice in Somerset, Hillsdale Co., MI. 1930 census as Ollin Prentiss in Columbia, Jackson Co., MI.

He m. Edith I., b. c. 1889, MI. It is unclear whether she is the Edith Ambler shown in the 1900 census in Columbia, Jackson Co., MI, dau. of Edgar H. and Francelia Ambler.

Children shown of Orlin and Edith:

  1. Kenneth G. Prentice, b. 12 Feb 1908 and d. May 1968, Brooklyn, Jackson Co., MI (per census and SSDI which shows surname as Prentiss). At home in 1920 and 1930.
