We received the following information in Christine Hadden's email of 25 May 2008 which we have augmented with census records:

1. Grace A. Prentice was b. c. 1867 in Motherwell, Scotland. She emigrated to the United States in 1887 at the age of about 20 per 1900 census. She appears with her husband and family in the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 cenus in Youngstown, Mahoning Co., OH, with her husband and family.

Grace m. Erskine McDougall Maiden on 26 Oct 1887, Allegheny, PA. He was b. c. 1861 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland and emigrated to the United States in 1878 (per 1920 census). Children per 1900 census:more children, including:

1. Erskine Maiden, b 10 Jul 1891, PA, and d. Aug 1967 in OH. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
2. Marion Maiden, dau., b. c. 1896, OH. At home in 1900, 1910, and 1930 census in Youngstown, OH. In the 1930 census she is incorrectly indexed as "Marvin P. Maiden."
3. Margaret Prentice, b. c. 1899, PA. At home, spelled Margreet, in 1900 census in Youngstown, OH. At home in 1910.

2. Erskine Maiden, b 10 Jul 1891, PA, and d. Aug 1967 in OH. Not in 1910 census. He appears in the 1920 and 1930 census in Youngstown, Mahoning Co., OH, with his wife and living in the home of Annie Fowler, a widow, (b. c. 1870, England, with both parents b. in England) where he is called a son in law.

He m. Irene Fowler, b. c. 1894, OH, dau. of Annie Fowler, above. No children shown in the 1920 or 1930 census.

Living with them in 1930 is David Williams, b. c. 1885, OH, and called Erskine's Uncle.

Christine Hadden has correctly identified Grace as Grace Aitken Prentice shown in the IGI who was b. 25 Sep 1866, Cambusnethan Parish, daughter of David Prentice (b. 7 Jan 1828, son of Robert Prentice and Marion Aiken) and Marion Frood(b. 5 Nov 1838, Landwer Parish, Lanarkshire, dau. of John Frood and Elizabeth Smith). David and Marion are #2 in our Fall 2001 article entitled Robert Prentice of Scotland . It should be noted that other of Grace's siblings also emigrated to the United States.
