He m. Verneda. She was b. c. 1916 and d. 3 Sep 2004 at the age of 88 years. Her Obituary appears in the 9 Sep 2004 issue of "The Record" in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. It reads as follows:

PRENTICE, Eva - At Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus, on Friday, September 3, 2004.

Eva Florence Prentice, of Mount Forest, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Bruce Prentice. Dear mother of Jim Prentice and his wife Orma of Guelph, Agnes Nicholson and her husband Bill of Owen Sound, Verneda Prentice of Waterloo, Ruth Pope and her husband Murray of Waterloo, Gail MacDermott and her husband Brian of Kitchener, Stewart Prentice and his wife Jean of South River and Anne Grabowski and her husband John of Kitchener.

Eva will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Carl Prentice.

Friends may call at the Hendrick Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Forest Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

5. Gail Prentice. She m. Brian MacDermott and in 2004 lived in Kitchener.
6. Stewart Prentice. He m. Jean and in 2004 lived in South River.
7. Anne Prentice. She m. John Grabowski and in 2004 lived in Kitchener.
8. Carl Prentice, deceased by 2004.

In reviewing Canada's census records, we note in the 1911 census the family of:

• Alex N. Prentice, head, b. Jun 1870, age 30.
• Viola Prentice, wife, b. 1882, age 28.
• Gordon Prentice, son, b. Sep 1910, age 3. (Note: either the age or birth year is incorrect.)
• John Prentice, son, b. Apr 1909, age 2.

Further investigation is needed to determine if that is the correct Gordon Bruce Prentice.
