1. Ellis Rodman Prentice, b. 19 Dec 1922, and d. 23 Oct 2010. His obituary reads as follows:

    Ellis Rodman Prentice

    Peacefully on Saturday October 23, 2010 in his 88th year. Predeceased by Edythe, beloved wife for 59 years. Loving father of Craig and his wife Linda, and Margo and her husband Michael Boyd. Proud Papa of Laurel and Brooke.

    Born in Drumbo, Rod proudly served his country and was decorated for his service in WW II. After his military service, Rod moved to Brantford where he met and married Edythe. He had an accomplished career with The Canada Starch Co. spanning 35 years.

    Rod was an avid golfer and he and Edythe were big fans of The Toronto Blue Jays.Rod will be deeply missed by his friends at Yorkview Heights Baptist Church, Thornhill Golf & Country Club and The Claremont Seniors Residence.Private family service.

    A Celebration of Life will be held for Rod's 88th birthday on December 19 at Thornhill Golf & Country Club. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. On line condolences can be left at www.jerrettfuneralhomes.com

He m. Edythe Henrietta who was b. c. 1924 and d. 22 Jan 2007. Her obituary, published in "The Kingston Whig-Standard" in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, reads as follows:

    Obituary for Edythe Henrietta Prentice

    PRENTICE, Edythe Henrietta - Peacefully on Monday January 22, 2007 in her 83rd year [born c. 1924]. Edythe beloved wife for 59 years by E. Rodman. Loving mother of Craig and his wife Linda and Margo and her husband Michael Boyd. Proud Nana of Laurel and Brooke.

    Edythe will be deeply missed by all of her friends and neighbours including those at York View Heights Baptist Church and Thornhill Country Club. In addition to being an Honorary Life Deacon, throughout her life, Edythe volunteered her time and love to the following organizations; The Yorkville Drop in Centre, Street Haven, The DonWood Institute, and Cummer House. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Younge St, North York (two lights south of Steeles Ave) on Wednesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday 11 am at York View Baptist Church, 98 Finch Ave., West, North York. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
