Update of 8 Mar 2008: Chauncey F. Prentice is the son of Franklin Prentice of Canada and Crawford Co., IA discussed in our Summer 2001 Prentice Newsletter.

1. Chauncey F. Prentice was b. c. 1847 in IA. He appears in the 1910 census in Turtle Lake, Barron Co., WI, with his wife and family.

He m. Mary E., b. c. 1851, OH. They had 2 or more children, including:

  1. Irvin Prentice was b. c. 1877 in Iowa. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
  2. Myrtle V. Prentice, b. c. 1895, NE. She is living at home in the 1910 Turtle Lake census.

2. Irvin Prentice was b. c. 1877 in Iowa. By 1907 he had moved to Wisconsin where he appears in the 1910 and 1920 Turtle Lake, Barron Co., WI census with his wife, Bessie (Elizabeth?), b. c. 1883 in OH, and children:

  1. Vera Prentice, b. c. 1907, WI.
  2. Hazel Prentice, b. c. 1908, WI.
  3. Roy Prentice, b. c. 1910,WI. Roy does not appear in the 1930 census nor in the SSDI.
  4. Violet Prentice, b. c. 1913, WI.

Irvin does not appear in the 1930 census.
