Who are William Prentice's Parents?

We didn't find any William Prentice b. c. 1843 in Wishaw in the 1851 or 1861 census, but we did find a William Prentice in the 1861 census in Dalmellington, Ayrshire, who was b. c. 1846, Wishaw, son of John Prentice, b. c. 1812, Wishaw, and his wife, Janet, b. c. 1895, Wishaw.

Investigation is continuing to determine whether that is the correct family.
