1. William P. Prentice was likely b. c. 1870-1880 at an unknown location. NSW BMD does not show a birth for a William Prentice in an appropriate time frame. He may have been born elsewhere.
He m. Alice Arnold in 1902 in St. Leonards, NSW, Australia. They had 1 or more children (per NSW BMD):
- Bessie O. Prentice, b. 1903, St. Leonards, NSW, Australia. NSW BMD does not show a marriage for a Bessie, Bess or Elizabeth Prentice in an appropriate time frame. She may have died or married elsewhere.
We also note that the following marriages took place in St. Leonards, NSW among Prentices who may, or may not, be related to William Prentice:
- James T. Prentice m. Catherine Ferguson in 1919, St. Leonards. He might be a son of James Prentice and Elizabeth Ferguson which suggests the possibility that his father, James Prentice, might be a brother of William Prentice.
- Ruby A. Prentice m. Ross C. McCay/MacCay in 1920 in St. Leonards. She was the dau. of Charles and Annie Prentice of Glen Innes which suggests the possibility that her father, Charles Prentice, might be a brother to William Prentice.
- William P. Prentice m. Lily Matthews in 1921 in St. Leonards. This might also be a 2nd marriage for him.
