Update of 12 Aug 2008: William Prentice appears in the 1851 census as the son of Thomas Prentice (b. c. 1802, Bermondsey) and Maria (b. c. 1799, Plym, Devon) of Islington. This article is now replaced by our Fall 2002 article entitled Thomas Prentice of Bermondsey and Islington, London, England .
By email of 21 Feb 2003, Kerry Prentice has provided us with the following Prentice material.
1. William Prentice was born 2 Jan 1842 in Islington, Middlesex and d. 2 Mar 1908 of Bronchitus at 125 Roding Road, Homerton, Hackney, Middlesex. In 1881 he lived at 1 Wyatt Road, Islington, Middlesex and his occupation was that of a Painter and in 1908 he was called a "House Decorator (journeyuman)".
He m. Isabella Anthony. She was born 1842 (or c. 1845 per 1881 census), Walthamstow, Essex. . Children:
- Harriet Prentice, b. 1878, Hoxton, Middlesex. She m. Mr. Rossiter and in 1908 lived at 153 Glenarm Road, Clapton
- Albert M. Prentice, b. 1881, Islington.
