1. William J. Prentice was likely b. c. 1850-60 and probably in Scotland. In 1907 he lived on Manchester St., Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.

William's wife, Agnes J. was b. c. 1858 in Ayrshire, Scotland and in 1907 had been living in Cairnyan, Scotland. Agnes first appears in Ellis Island Records aboard the "Columbia" which had departed from Glasgow, Scotland and arrived in New York on 5 Feb 1907. Her declared intention was to join her husband in Hartford, CT. Agnes was described in immigration records as 5' 5", pale complexion, fair hair, and blue eyes.

Accompanying Agnes were her children:

  1. Thomas Prentice, b. c. 1888, Bishoptown, Scotland.
  2. William Prentice, b. c. 1891, Glasgow, Scotland.
  3. Agnes Prentice, b. c. 1891, Cairnyan, Scotland.
  4. Elizabeth/Bessie Prentice, b. c. 1896, Cairnyan, Scotland
