2. Richard Prentice was b. c. 1849 in Marylebone, Middlesex, England. At home there in 1851. He appears in the 1881 census as a Barrister's Clerk living at 14 Chichester (or Colchester) St., London, with his wife, Sarah A., b. c. 1854, London, Middlesex. He appears in the 1901 Isle of Wight, Cowes, census as a "Retired Law Clerk" with his wife, Sarah. Children per 1881 census:

1. Amy S. Prentice, b. c. 1874, Holloway, Middlesex. Not at home in 1901 census.

We would suggest the possibility that Richard Prentice might be a brother or cousin of William Prentice, b. c. 1795, Northamptonshire, and in 1841 living in Pilton with his wife, Maria, b. c. 1801, and children:

1. John Prentice, b. c. 1826 at home in 1841 in Pilton.
2. Susanna Prentice, b. c. 1826 and at home in 1841 in Pilton.

Richard was b. c. 1792 in Aldwinkle while William was b. c. 1795 in 1841 was living in Pilton which lies only about 2 miles NE of Aldwinkle (also spelled Aldwincle).

Richard might also be a brother or cousin of William Prentice, b. c. 1788, Northamptonshire, and in 1841 living in Wadenhoe which lies only about 1.5 miles NE of Aldwinkle/Aldwincle.
