By emails of 30 Jan 2003 and 1 May 2003, Kerry Prentice has provided us with the following information about Prentices who appear in the Parish Register of St. Peters London Docks and in the 1881 census.

Family 1:

1. Robert Prentice, b. c. 1885-90, m. Elizabeth. Robert was a Labourer in 1908, a Lighterman in 1923 and a Watchman in 1925. They had various addresses listed in church records:

  1. 1908: 126 Red Lion Street.
  2. 1911: 1a Meeting House Alley.
  3. 1913: 19 Meeting House Alley.
  4. 1915-25: 1a Meeting House Alley.

Children shown in the Parish Register are:

  1. Charles George Prentice, b. 30 Apr 1908 and bap. 05 May 1908.
  2. John Edward Prentice, b. 19 Jan 1911 and bap. 7 Feb 1911.
  3. Elizabeth Mary Prentice, b. 1 Feb 1913 and bap. 11 Mar 1913.
  4. Margaret Anne Prentice, b. 10 Jun 1915, bap. 29 Jun 1915.
  5. Mary Prentice, b. 27 Nov 1917 and bap. 16 Dec 1917.
  6. Clara Ellen Prentice, b. 13 Jun 1921 and bap. 28 Jun 1921.
  7. Annie Prentice, b. 27 Jul 1923 and bap. 12 Aug 1923.
  8. Ellen Prentice, b. 24 Oct 1925 and bap. 8 Nov 1925.

Family 2:

1. Frederick Prentice was b. c. 1900-1907. He m. Elizabeth. In 1927 he was a Labourer and they had:

  1. Robert Prentice, b. 5 Nov 1927 and bap. 22 Nov 1927.
