In reviewing the 1901 census, we found the following Prentices associated with Bethnal Green, London, Middlesex, England:
Family 1. Catherine Prentice, b. 1858, Bethnal Green, London. Her marital status is not known. She appears in the 1901 St. George In The East census with her son:
- Joseph Prentice, b. 1882, Bethnal Green, London.
Family 2. Benjamin Prentice was b. 1854 in Vauxhall, London. He appears in the 1901 West Ham census as a Brass Founder with his sons:
- Benjamin Prentice, b. 1882, London, Bethnal Green
- Samuel Prentice, b. 1893, London, Mile End.
- James Prentice, b. 1897, London, Limehouse.
There is a chance that Benjamin Prentice might be a brother of William Lloyd Baker Prentice who appears in our Spring 2000 article about William Lloyd Prentice and who was b. 1 May 1855 and who later lived in Mile End where his son, William Lloyd Prentice, was b. 1 Nov 1884 at 24 Burdett Rd, Mile End, London.
