Kerry Prentice's email of 1 May and 20 May 2003 have provided us with information about the following family:
1. James Prentice was b. c. 1825, Edinborough, Scotland and d. before 1901. He appears in the 1871 Bermondsey, St. Mary Mag. census living at 88 Albert Road and in the 1881 Camberwell, Surrey, England census as a Fish Salesman with his wife, Mary, b. c. 1827, Southwark, Surrey (per 1871 census) or Boney, Southend (per 1881 census). In 1881 they lived at 81 Trafalgar Rd., Camberwell,Surrey. Children:
- James Prentice, b. c. 1845, Southwark, Surrey/London. . . . . . . [2]
- Frederick Prentice, b. c. 1851, Borough Southwark, Fish Porter, Billingsgate. In 1881 census. In the 1871 census he is shown living at 88 Albert Rd., St. Mary Mag., Bermondsey, London. In 1881 he lived at 81 Trafalgar Rd., Camberwell, Surrey. He does not appear in the 1891 or 1901 census.
- Joseph Prentice, b. c. 1853, Borough Southwark, Fish Dealer, Billingsgate. In the 1871 census he is shown living at 88 Albert Rd., St. Mary Mag., Bermondsey, London. In 1881 he lived at 81 Trafalgar Rd., Camberwell, Surrey. He does not appear in the 1891 or 1901 census.
- Charles Prentice, b. c. 1855, Southwark, Surrey. Not in 1881, 1891 or 1901 census. In 1871 his residence was 88 Albert Rd., St. Mary Mag., Bermondsey, London.
- Robert Prentice, b. c. 1857, Southwark,Surrey. Not in 1881, 1891 or 1901 census. In 1871 his address was the same as Chmarles'.
- Mary Prentice, b. c. 1862, Bermondsey, Surrey. Not in 1881 census. In 1871 her address was the same as Joseph's.
- Walter Prentice, b. c. 1868, Bermondsey. . . . . . [3]
2. James Prentice was b. c. 1845, Bermondsey, London, and died Bef. 1901. He married Fanny Elizabeth Mossman on 16 Dec 1869, St. Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, ( per Cert.). She was the dau. of John Mossman and was b. c. 1845 in Malden, Bedfordshire (per 1881 census) or Bermondsey, London (per 1891 census), and died after 1891.
In 1881 they lived at 118 Grange Road, Bermondsey, London. In 1891 they lived at 370 Southwark Park Road, Bermondsey, London. Between 1869 and 1891 James was a Fish Porter. Children:

- Frances Louise Prentice, b. Sep 1871, Bermondsey, London.
- Charles Prentice, b. c. 1872, Bermondsey, London.
- Laura Alice Prentice, b. Jun 1874, Bermondsey, London.

- Lilian Maud Prentice, b. Jun 1877, Bermondsey, London.
- Kate Prentice, b. Dec 1878, Bermondsey, London.
- Alfred Prentice, b. c. 1881, Bermondsey, London.
- Daisey Edith N. Prentice, h. Dec. 1881, Bermondsey, London.
- William Henry Prentice, b. Sep 1884, Bermondsey, London.
- Agnes Mable Prentice, b. Mar 1888, St. Olave, Bermondsey, London.
- AGNES MABLE PRENTICE, b. March 1888, St Olave, Bermondsey, London.
- Bertram Leonard Prentice, b. Mar 1890, Bermondsey, London.
3. Walter Prentice, b. c. 1868, Bermondsey. He may be the Walter Prentice shown in the 1901 census, St. Saviour, Southwark Newington, with his wife, Sophia, b. c. 1870, Surrey Camberwell and children:
- Edith Prentice, b. c. 1898, Surrey Walworth
- Alfred Prentice, b. c. 1900, Surrey Camberwell
