1. Jacob Henry Prentiss is the son of Benjamin Mayberry Prentiss and Margaret Ann Sowdowsky. Jacob was b. 24 Aug 1849, in Bethany, Harrison, MO and d. 19 Sep 1907, in Bethany.
Jacob married Ida M. Armstrong, 7 Dec 1871, in Adams Co., IL and living with her son, Claude, in the 1930 Bethany census.. Ida was b. Nov 1855, in NY. They had at least 3 childen:
- Fred Prentiss. Born, Nov 1871, in IL. Census: 1880, in Bunker Hill, Macoupin, IL. He married Jennie.
- Claude Prentiss. Born, Dec 1874, in MO. Census: 1900, in Bethany, Harrison, MO. At home in 1930 Bethany census.
- Logan G. Prentiss. Born, Feb 1880, in MO. Census: 1900 and 1920 in Bethany, Harrison, MO. Census: 1920, in Bethany. In 1930 Bethany census with his wife, Emma M. Maxwell, b. c. 1886, MO. No children shown.
