1. George W. Prentice was b. c. 1820. He does not appear in the 1850 census. His place of birth is unclear because he, and his family, appear in 2 different 1860 census records; one says he was b. in VT and the other says he was b. in NY.
He m. Sophia, b. c. 1824, but 1 1860 census record says she was b. in VT while the other record says she was b. in NH. They do not appear in the 1880 census. Children (per 1860 census with different names in different records for some of the children):
- Caroline Prentice, b. c. 1842 in either VT or NY.
- David/Daniel Prentice was b. c. 1845 in VT or NY.
- Ellen Prentice was b. c. 1849, NY.
- William Prentice was b. c. 1851, NY. The only William Prentice b. c. 1850 in NY in the 1880 census is William Prentice of Wells, Hamilton Co, NY, but there is no present evidence indicating whether they are the same person.
- George/James Prentice was b. c. 1853, NY. It is unclear whether he is in the 1880 census.
- Thomas Prentice was b. c. 1855, NY. Not in 1880 census.
