1. (unknown) Prentice, perhaps b. c. 1776-1786, and perhaps in the vicinity of Colne Engaine where some of his children were born 1806-1827.

He m. (unknown wife). 1851 census, Great Coggeshall, Essex. Childen per 1851 census:

  1. Ann Prentice, b. c. 1806, Colne Engaine, Essex. 1851 at home in Great Coggeshallo.
  2. George Prentice, b. c. 1810, Colne Engaine, Essex. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
  3. (probably) Elizabeth Prentice, b. c. 1815, Colne Engaine. She apparently m. Edward Fuller (see #3 below, William Prentice).
  4. (probably) Harriet Prentice, b. c. 1827, Earls Colne, Essex (per 1881 census). She m. Elijah Fairs who was b. c. 1821, Coggeshall, Essex. In 1881 he was a shoemaker living on Church St., Great Coggeshall.

2. George Prentice, b. c. 1810, Colne Engaine, Essex. Not in 1841 census. 1851 at home in Great Coggeshall. 1861 in Great Coggeshall with dau., Mary, and boarders Elijah and Wevett Farris and boarders Henry and Alfred Patter. Not in 1871 census. 1881 living with his sister, Harriet and her husband.

He m. (unknown). Children per 1851 census. Son:

  1. Mary Ann Prentice, b. c. 1842, Great Coggeshall, Essex. 1851 at home. 1861 at home.
  2. William Prentice, b. c. 1844, Great Coggeshall, Essex. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [3]

3. William Prentice, b. c. 1844, Great Coggeshall, Essex. 1851 at home. 1861 not home and living with Edward Fuller and Elizabeth Ann Fuller" who was b. c. 1815, Colne Engaine, where William was called their "nephew."

He m. Mary Ann, probably b. c. 1845-50. Children:

  1. Earnest "Pinky" Prentice (b. 1870, Gt. Coggeshall, Essex, and d. 1937). Not in 1891 census. 1901 census a Postman and unmarried boarder in Melton, Suffolk. In 1911 he m. Ada Smith from Coggeshall and had become a bootmaker. Childen:
    1. Ernest Edward "Pinky" Prentice, b. 1905, Coggeshall, Essex. Carpenter and woodcarver. He m. (unknown). Children:
      1. Daughter: Angela Prentice, b. 1947. She m. Mr. Moore.
      2. " Pinky" Prentice.
    2. Dora Ethel Prentice, b. c. 1905 Coggeshall, Essex.
    3. Vera Grace Prentice, b. c. 1910, Coggeshall, Essex.
    4. Stanley Prentice, b. after 1911, probably Coggeshall, Essex. Village chemist
    5. (dau.) Prentice, b. after 1911, probably Coggeshall, Essex..
