1. William E. Prentiss, b. c. 1875 in Canada, and emigrated to the United States in 1881 when he was 16, probably with his parents. No Canadian Prentiss family appears in the 1900 MI census, so he was either missed or may have emigrated through another state. A check of the 1900 NY census does not disclose William.
William appears in the 1910 and 1920 Sanilac Col., MI census with this wife, Jennie (Kollman?), b. c. 1878, MI. Children:
- Henry Prentiss, b. c. 1907, MI.
- Beatrice Prentiss, b. c. 1909, MI.
- Hugh Prentss, b. c. 1912, MI.
- John Prentiss, b. c. 1913, MI.
- Annie Prentiss, b. c. 1915, MI.
Also appearing the 1920 household is Marey(?) Kollman, b. c. 1825 in Germany and called William's mother in law.
