Update of 7 Dec 2003: A submission by Bruce W. Kitchens identifies Samuel as Samuel Duncan Prentice, as the son of Zachariah Prentice and Nancy Elizabeth Myers who were m. 23 Mar 1841. Zachariah is descended from James Prentice was born about 1793 in Tennessee. Although not fully confirmed, circumstances suggest he may be the son of Zachariah Prentice, grandson Daniel and Isabel Prentice, and a descendant of William Prentis of Williamsburg, VA.

1. Samuel D. Prentice was b. c. Sep 1863 in AL and d. 25 Jan 1924, Union Co., MS. He is bur. in Glenfield Cemetery.

He m. Amanda/Mandy E. Kitchens on 28 Jan 1892 in Prentiss Co., MS. She was b. Oct 1864 in MS. Her father was b. in GA in was living with them in 1900 and 1910; her mother in MS. According to Bruce W. Kitchens' website at http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=brucekitchens&id=I122 and census records, they had the following children:

William Curtis Prentice, b. 27 Aug 1897, MS. He was living at home in 1920. He was a barber. Hw m. Mabel Frazier and had:
1. Mary Francis Prentice.
2. S. D. Prentice.
L. D. Prentice, b. 27 May 1899, MS. He was living at home in 1920.
Addie E. Prentice, b. Oct 1899, MS. She m. Robert Moore and had:
1. Earl R. Moore
2. Elizabeth Moore
3. Gina May Moore
Milton Prentice, b. c. 1902, MS. He was living at home in 1920.
Albert Duncan "Babe" Prentice, b. c. 1905, MS. According to an email of 28 Feb 2001 from Pamela (Prentice) Rivas, he m. Clara Chunn from Tupelo, MS. They moved to CA about 1958. They had a son:
1. Charles Albert Prentice. He may be living in the Santa Barbara, CA area. He m. Patricia Carpenter. Children: <
  1. Pamela Lee Prentice. She m. Richard Edmund Rivas. Children:
    - Shannon Lee Rivas.
    - Christopher Richard Rivas.
  2. Charles Albert Prentice Jr. (deceased)
  3. Ramona Gail Prentice. She m. Bruce Tesar.
    - Jeffery Bruce Tesar.
    - Derek Tesar.
