Although not yet confirmed by documentation, he may be the same person as Alexander Prentice, son of Andrew and Janet, above. According to Heather Keller, a descendant, her Alexander was b. in Wishaw which lies perhaps 5 miles NE of Stonehouse.

Alexander emigrated in Jul 1848 via Boston, MA. He settled in Caledonia, WI, where he appears in the 1860 and 1880 census with his family. He then then moved to Price County to start the Jump River Lumber Company (later along with the town named after him) Prentice Wisconsin. He is almost certainly the Alexander Prentice shown in WI U. S Land Records as purchasing land in 1855 in Columbia Co., WI and in 1893 in Price Co., WI.

Alexander moved to Seattle, WA in 1889 and appears in the 1900 Seattle census. Heather Keller's email of 1 Aug 2002 tells of a Seattle article regarding his 50th wedding anniversary celebration. It states he originally platted 200 acres and kept 10 for his own building of a family home to be named the Wishaw house. There is a street in seattle named after him. And the land he once held now belongs to Boeing. Alexander d. 27 Mar 1909, in Seattle, King, WA. Census: 1900, in Seattle, King, WA.

The 1900 census shows Robert's daughter, Ada Dudley,as b. in MA, 3 years before Margarets 1885 marriage, so Margaret J. Prentice may have been a 2nd wife to Robert Dudley.
Margaret and Robert appear in the 1900 census in Fulton, King Co., WA. 1910 census in Seattle, King Co., WA. Children:
    1. Ada Dudley, probably a step-daughter, b. c. 1882, WI. At home in Fulton in 1900. Not home in 1910.
    2. Angeline G. Dudley, b. c. 1889, WI. At home in Fulton in 1900. Not home in 1910. It is unclear whether she is the Angeline Harvey, b. c. 1889, WI, wife of Ralph Harvey, b. c. 1879, WI. Children:

Living with Alexander's family in the 1880 Caledonia, WI, census was Margaret Thompson, b. c. 1820, WI (both parents b. in Scotland), unmarried, and called an "Aunt." Although called an "Aunt," she would likely be Jane Thompson's sister.

70. Andrew Prentice. Born, Nov 1845, in Scotland[3]. He appears in the 1880 census in Greenfield, Sauk, WI. He may, or may not, be the Andrew W. Prentice shown in WI U. S. Marie L. (Belz) Prentice: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice, Yakima Herald-Republic (WA) - Friday, May 14, 2010.

Marie Louise Carlson Belz Prentice, 87, died May 1, 2010 at home in Yakima. Marie was born June 4, 1922 in Hastings, Minnesota, to Frank L. Carlson and Adeline Dunkel. She graduated from Hastings High School.

In 1922 she m. Edward H. Belz in Minnesota. In 1948 they moved to Yakima where they had two children - Suzanne Marie & Beverly Frances. She later went to Yakima Business College and worked as a bookkeeper. Edward died in 1971. In 1982 she retired and married Alexander Prentice, he died in 1987. Her joys in life were traveling, playing games, and her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Milliron (John) of Yakima and three grandchildren, Jennifer Milliron LaLonde (Edward) of Seattle, Johnny Milliron (Christine) of San Diego, CA and Jacob Berry of Fife, WA. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Brenden and Alyssa Milliron of San Diego, CA; 8 brothers, and a very special couple, Ronald and Jennifer Berry of Lakebay, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a sister, a brother, and daughter, Beverly Berry. A celebration of Marie's life will be at a later date.

Alexander apparently had no children, nor did he have any with Marie apparently because of her age at marriage and also because none are mentioned in her obituary.
