Update of 19 Jan 2009: John W. Prentice is John Westley Prentice, the son of William and Mary Prentice, showning the 1860 Lancaster, Butler Co., PA census, and a descendant of James Prentice of Beaver Co., PA. That material now replaces this article.
John W. Prentice was b. Mar 1858 in PA. He appears in the 1880 and 1900 Crawford Co., PA census with his wife, Elizabeth, b. Aug 1858, Ireland, and their daughter:
- Mary A. Prentice, b. Oct 1881, PA
Also living in John's household in the 1880 census was Acy(?) A., called son in law and b. in Ireland c. 1876. He is likely Elizabeth's brother.
Also living in John's household in the 1880 census was Jennie M. Prentice, b. Aug 1879 in PA. Her relationship to John was either none, or not recorded. Jennie is shown in the 1900 Crawford census as a border in the home of Thomas F. Oliver.
