With the help of Ian Prentice and the IGI, we have created the following family tree of Prentices who lived in Hayling, Hampshire England. Hayling and North Hayling lie on Hayling Island at Portsmouth, SW of London. The tree is as follows:
1, John(?) Prentyce, probably b. c. 1540-50, m. Elner Tyepe on 1 Sep 1570 at Hayling, Hampshire, England. They may be the parents of: (per IGI)
- Henry Prentice who m. Margaret Roman on 28 Jul 1600 at North Hayling.
- John Prentice (twin), bap. 20 Mar 1576. . . . . . . [2]
- Edmond Prentice (twin), bap. 20 March 1576 with his twin brother
2. John Prentice (twin), bap. 20 Mar 1576. He m. Joanna Prisse on 3 Jun 1602 at N. Hayling. He d. 1616 leaving a Surrey Will. Children:
- John Prentice, b. c. 1603-05, m. Agnes Stigas on 14 Jan 1623 at North Hayling.
- Thomas Prentice.
- Richard Prentice of Hayling who m. Ann; she died a widow leaving letters of administration dated 5 Feb 1645.
The IGI does not contain any further Prentices in Hayling, so it is likely they moved elsewhere.
