1. John Prentice, b. c. 1791, Finmere, Oxfordshire, and d. Jul 1867, All Saints Mixbury, Oxfordshire.in 1789 and d. in 1867 (per IGI, Anne Mauserk, Ian Prentice, and Ancestry.com . He appears in the 1841 Mixbury, Oxfordshire census with his family and with a birth date of c. 1791.

He m. Hannah Kirby/Kerby on 8 May 1826, Fringford, Oxfordshire. She was b. c. 1804-1806, Newton Purcell, Oxfordshire, and d. 1873, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire. She was the dau. of John and Lydia Kirby.

After their marriage they apparently lived in Banbury, Fringeford, Finmere and Mixbury. Hannah appears as a widow, age 66, in the 1871 census in Mixbury Village. She is shown as a pauper, born in Newton Purcell. Living with Hannah is her son in law George Barrett, her daughter Elizabeth (Barrett, nee Prentice), along with George and Elizabeth's children. He may be the same person as the Richard Prentice who later appears in the 1891 census in Wellingborough where his birth place is identified at Finmon, Oxfordshire, age 57, with his wife identified at Jane, b. c. 1833.
