1. George C. Prentice was b. Feb 1852 in CT. He appears in the 1880 and 1900 Norwich census with his wife and family.
He m. Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Price?). She was b. Feb 1858 in CT. She appears to be the daughter of Zolman Price who was living in their household in the 1880 census. An Ancestor Chart for her can be found at Ancestry.com .
Children (per 1880 and 1900 census):
- Nellie P. Prentice, b. Dec 1879, Norwich, New London, CT.
- Mazie E. Prentice, b. Jun 1890, CT.
The 1850 Norwich census suggests various possibilities:
- Daniel and Angeline Prentice of Norwich who appear there in the 1850 census. They had 2 young children in 1850 and their ages are such that it was likely that an additional child was b. c. 1852.
- They might also be George and Olive Prentice of Norwich who are 186/26v in our PRENTICE book.
- His father might also be George Prentice, son of John, who was 21 and unmarried in the 1850 Norwich census. Perhaps he married shortly thereafter and had children, including George.
- They might be William E. and Sarah C. Prentice of Norwich. They had 2 young children in 1850 and their ages are such that it was likely that an additional child was b. c. 1852.
