Update of 10 Nov 2002: By email of 10 Nov 2002, Sue Crow advises that Emeline (Prentice) Page is found in the 1880 census living with her brothers Samuel G. Prentice and Ransom L. Prentice of Sanford, Broome Co., NY. They are the sons of Ozias G. Prentice and Laura Griswold .

We are helping Sue Crow, Becky Siple and Stacy Moorhead in trying to identify the parents of Emeline Prentice. She was probably b. c. 1820-30 at an unknown location.

1. Emeline Prentice was b. c. 1826 in NY (per 1880 census, above). Her father was b. in CT and her mother was b. in MA. She m. William H. Page. He d. in NY. After his death, Rosabelle followed her family's migration and eventually settled in Oberlin, Decatur Co., KS (per Becky Siple, email, 1 Mar 2004). Emeline and William had at least 4 childen, including:

Charles Page, b. c. 1861, NY (per Becky Siple, email, 1 Mar 2004). He was living with his brother, Virgil, and was unmarried in the 1880 census in Sanford, Broome Co., NY. Although additional investigation is needed for confirmation, he is probably the Charles W. Page, age 60, shown in the 1920 Greene, Chenango, NY census with his wife, Ida, b. c. 1857, NY. No children are shown.

2. Rosabella Page, b. 19 Apr 1850 in Cedarville, Broome Co., NY and d. 18 Jul 1808, Oberlin, Decatur Co., KS. She m. Daniel Dibble in 1847. He was b. 24 Feb 1847 in Delphi, Delaware Co., NY and d. 20 Nov 1927, Oxford, Chenango Co., NY Children (per Stacy Moorhead, email, 15 Jun 2004):

3. Virgil Grant Page, b. c. 1854 in NY (per Stacy Moorhead, 10 Dec 2001). He appears in the 1880 Sanford, Broome Co., NY census as a farmer with his wife, Hattie (Panna?), b. c. 1856, NY. The 1920 census shows him widowed and living in Afton Twp.,Chenango Co., NY in the home of Leon Hinman, apparently no relation. He does not appear in the 1930 census. Children (per 1880 census):

4. Minnie May Dibble, b. 25 Jun 1869, Ninevah, Broome Co., NY and d. 22 Nov 1896, Oberlin, Decatur, Co., KS. She m. Charles Warren Hatch who was b. 7 Apr 1870, McComb, McDonough Co., Illinois and d. 23 Dec 1955, Ralston, Pawnee Co., OK. Children:

6. Arthur Page, b. c. 1878, NY. He appears in the 1920 Afton, Chenango Co., NY census living with the family of his brother, Miller Page. He might, or might not, be the Arthur R. Page who appears in the 1930 Binghamton, Broome Co., NY census as b. c. 1876 with his wife, Hattie E., b. c. 1878, NY. No children are shown.
