1. Daniel Prentice, b. c. 1836 in MN, with both parents b. in MN. Not in 1850 or 1860 census. He appears in the 1880 census for Belleville, St. Clair Co., IL with his wife and family.
He m. Maria Cutrigen, and their children:
- Edward Prentice, b. c. 1869, IL. Not in 1920 or 1930 census.
- James Prentice, b. c. 1871, VA. Not in 1920 or 1930 census.
- Patrick Prentice, b. c. 1873, IL. Not in 1900, 1920 or 1930 census.
- Louisa Prentice, b. c. 1875, IL
- John Prentice, b. c. 1878, IL.
- Gustav Prentice, b. c. 1879, IL. Not in 1900, 1920 or 1930 census.
2. John Prentice, b. c. 1878, IL.
He is NOT the John Prentice who appears in the 1910, 1920 and 1920 Mattoon City, Coles Co., IL census as b. c. 1878, IL, with both parents b. in IL, with his wife and family. For his family, see our Fall 2009 article.
The only clue we have for now is the record of the 1880 census showing that both of Daniel's parents were born in MN.
