1. William C. Prentice, b. c. 1881 in MA, appears in the 1920 Worcester, Worcester Co., MA census with his wife, Winifred Fletcher, b. c. 1882, CT and children:

Clarence W. Prentice, b. c. 1909, MA.
Alfred F. Prentice, b. c. 1919, Worcester, MA. He d. c. 5 Oct 1997 at the Manor Care Health Services home, Denudin, FL. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Corps in the Asia and the Pacific. He survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in 1941. He was an estimator at Morgan Construction Co. in Worcester for many years before he retired.
He was a member of Trinity Lodge of Masons in Clinton. He was a member of the Air Force Association in Washington, Yesterday's Air Force and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. Children:

Barbara J. Prentice. She m. Mr. Gorman and had two sons:

Jason P. Gorman of Millis, MA.
Theodore T. Gorman, of Millis.

Who are William C. Prentice's Parents?
For now, we can only make an informed guess. William was born a year after the 1880 census was taken. We used 2 tentative assumptions: (1) that that William was born in Worcester, and (2) that he probably had a sibling born within 2 or 3 years prior to his 1881 birth.
We then viewed the 1880 Worcester census and found at least 1 family that met those 2 criteria. It was t he family of Luaine(?) G. Prentice, a Painter, b. c. 1850, MA and his wife, Margaret, b. c. 1857, MA. They had 1 daughter, Jennie Prentice, b. in MA 9 months before the 1880 census date, which would give her a 1879 birth date, about 2 years before William's birth date. Further investigation is obviously needed to determine whether they are William's parents.
