Update of 23 Nov 2001: William Alexander McLaren Prentice is a descendant of William Prentice of Kincardine, Scotland. William had a grandson named WAMP who was b. 1834, and this WAMP is his grandson, b. 1890.
Original Article: We are working with Beverly Markham to identify the parents and ancestors of William Alexander McLaren Prentice, b. 28 Jan 1890, Sydney, NSW, who married Sophia Margaret Schultz on 26 Oct 1910. Sophia was b. 10 Sep 1885 at Toolburra, Queensland, Australia and d. 18 Aug 1977 in Toowoomba. William died 25 Dec 1939 in Townsville, Queensland. Children:
- William Alexander Prentice, b. 2 Nov 1911 in Warwick, Queensland. He m. 24 Jun 1933 in Dalby, Qld. to Betty Barber. He m. 2nd Joyce Howard but we have no other information on her or the date of the marriage.
- Gertrude Alice Prentice, b. 14 Apr 1914 in Grenfell, NSW and d. 5 Oct 1950 in Dalby, Qld. She m. Raymond Hall, b. 5 Apr 1908 and d. 23 Aug 19971 in Brisbane, Qld.
- Roland John Prentice, b. 28 Nov 1917 in Grenfell, NSW and d. in Toowoomba. He married Dulcie Anderson on 18 Dec 1941. She was born 3 Mar 1920 in Toowoomba.
- Albert Edward (Pat) Prentice, b. Sep 1919 in Grenfell, NWW.
